It sounds too much like 'Duh!' so I often call it 'Audio Recording Software' - but that means it's an 'ARS', which is not a good acronym either.) -)
There are so many DAWs available now it's hard to keep up! (What's a DAW? A Digital Audio Workstation of course, but I always feel too formal by calling it a 'DAW'.
